Tate has had a connection with dogs since high school, when he trained his first dog, Britt, a German Shepherd. He graduated from Ole Miss with a degree in kinesiology, but always felt drawn to working with dogs. His naturally calm demeanor and understanding of how dogs communicate attract dogs to him immediately.
Before Tate joined the Nashville Dog Wizard, he worked with prosthetic and orthotic patients, and he brings the same attention to detail, care, and patience to each dog he trains. For Tate, dogs are not just pets, but an important member of the family with a specific role. He loves to see their confidence build as they learn their role and become happier dogs.
Tate moved to Nashville in 2012. He lives in East Nashville with his wife, Chelsea, their German Shepherd, Goose, and rescue cat, Polly.
